John Neville
Born in Glasgow, John Neville had been painting intermittently since his late teens but began to paint more seriously in his late twenties. He attended life drawing classes over several years but did not have the time or inclination to complete a formal course. Developing a colourful and unusual style his early work was mainly industrial vistas and figure compositions. He started exhibiting in the 1980's and had his first one-man show in Sussex in 1988. A job opportunity allowed him to return to Scotland in 1989 and he continued to exhibit intermittently. In 1995 he decided to leave conventional employment and paint full time. He lives in Scotland with his wife and two children.
