Lesley Skeates
Lesley studied fine art at Aberystwyth University, where she specialised in painting and illustration. For much of her career she has been employed as a Medical Artist, first in Birmingham and then in Edinburgh. Her work included illustrating surgical and anatomical publications, such as the world-famous Gray's Anatomy. Meanwhile Lesley has continued to paint commissions in oil and watercolour and exhibits in local galleries. In 2007 she decided to concentrate on painting full-time, choosing oils and palette knives. Her work is inspired by her love of walking and glorious countryside. the sea holds a particular fascination and she hopes one day to have walked and sketched the beautiful and varied coast of Britain.
