Polly Cruse is a Norwich-based artist. Her work focuses on the everyday and the relationships between the intangible and the material. Her current pieces centre on the role of found objects, gifts and memorabilia in the making of a home. Her photographs depict commonplace objects and ornaments in classical still life compositions that emphasize their importance within a personal and private space and give them status as objects of art - ultimately creating images of beauty, narrative and potential humour. Her work is influenced and informed by Dutch 16th and 17th century Romantic painting.
