Joseph Maxwell Stuart
Joseph studied drawing at the Ruskin School in Oxford then studied Fine Art at Edinburgh College of Art. Now based in the Borders, Joe finds an endless source of inspiration from the landscape in which he lives. Venice too has a natural attraction for him and with its lively colours and constant bustle provides a welcome contrast to Scotland. Joe paints in both oils and watercolours mostly 'en plein air' where he delights in the challenge of working
directly from nature. Joe hand makes every frame to compliment each painting - this means many hours of additional work for each picture.
